Job Title: Mixer / Scaler
Job Description
This role involves accurately mixing, scaling, and batching ingredients in a manufacturing environment to support consistent, high-quality production. You will follow written instructions to measure large quantities of product into smaller batches, repackage materials into smaller containers, and, once proficient, operate mixing machines to produce batter according to precise specifications. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliable math skills, and the physical ability to lift heavy materials throughout the shift.
Responsibilities
- Follow detailed written instructions to mix, scale, and batch ingredients accurately.
- Measure large quantities of product and portion them into smaller batches according to specified formulas.
- Repackage product into smaller containers while maintaining accuracy and consistency.
- Read and interpret production instructions to add the correct amounts of ingredients to make batter.
- Operate or assist with mixing machines once fully trained and proficient in the core duties.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with manufacturing and food-handling standards.
- Lift and move materials weighing 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Work collaboratively with a mixing and scaling team of more than 10 people to meet production goals.
- Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and maintain reliable attendance, especially during the temporary period.
- Comply with all workplace safety procedures, including wearing required footwear and clothing.
Essential Skills
- Experience in mixing, scaling, or batching in a production or manufacturing environment (preferred).
- Demonstrated math skills to accurately measure, weigh, and scale ingredients.
- Previous production or manufacturing experience.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and production documentation.
- Capability to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team of 10+ people in mixing and scaling.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
