Description
Under the direction and guidance of the Production Supervisor, the Manufacturing Test Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying developmental and production mechanical, electronic, and fiber optic components, parts, equipment, and systems. This role supports both production and prototype testing with a primary focus on signal conditioning electronics, network-based telemetry systems, electronic instrumentation, and test equipment. The Test Technician works closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to ensure product quality, performance, and reliability through comprehensive testing and process support. Essential Functions Conduct functional and continuity testing of electrical and optical assemblies, components, and harnesses using ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment. Set up standard test apparatus and configure test equipment and circuitry to perform functional, operational, environmental, and life-cycle tests in accordance with test procedures. Test prototype and production units to evaluate performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications. Assist engineers in troubleshooting failed production or prototype components under their direction and guidance. Recommend changes to test procedures and test specifications to improve testing effectiveness and product performance. Perform setup, calibration, rework, and quality testing related to parts, subassemblies, and final assemblies. Collect, evaluate, and analyze operational data using programmed tools to support product adjustments and manufacturing improvements. Read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, schematics, sketches, and test procedures to determine assembly and test methods. Support engineering experiments and assist in developing or modifying manufacturing methods and procedures. Follow all product test procedures, equipment operating instructions, and safety practices as documented in the company quality system. Maintain positive working relationships with customers, suppliers, coworkers, industry partners, and the local community. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Associate Degree (or post-secondary education) with 0–2 years of related experience Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance Willingness to travel on occasion Preferred Qualifications Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance Or Ability to obtain clearance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Hands-on experience with electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or fiber optic testing Proficiency using test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and related diagnostic tools Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems methodically Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing and team-oriented environment Comfortable working under established procedures while contributing to process improvements

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
