Job Description
The Process Engineer is responsible for monitoring manufacturing operations, ensuring quality and compliance, analyzing performance metrics, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. The role focuses on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing production processes through data-driven decision making and Lean manufacturing practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and improve operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Identify and lead process improvement projects based on KPI analysis.
- Drive cost-reduction and productivity-improvement initiatives.
- Apply Lean manufacturing methodologies, including:
- Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC)
- Continuous Improvement/Kaizen (PDCA)
- 5S
- SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies)
- Value Stream Mapping
- Waste elimination techniques
- Conduct product performance trials and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Analyze production and quality data using Excel and statistical tools.
- Support project implementation, employee training, and cross-functional process improvements.
- Leadership & Project Responsibilities
- Monitor project execution to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Assist with project audits and conflict resolution.
- Train employees and help sustain process improvements.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering or related field).
- Typically 2–5 years of related manufacturing or process engineering experience.
- Lean Manufacturing or Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, reaching, handling materials, and occasional climbing, kneeling, or crouching.
- Ability to lift frequently up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing production environment.
This is a Contract position based out of Blythewood, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
