Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead and manage the pre-construction, pre-planning, and construction project scheduling process. The ideal candidate will oversee project budgets, negotiate subcontractor contracts, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage the pre-construction, pre-planning, and construction project scheduling process.
- Review and approve project budgets, determining the allocation of resources from start to finish.
- Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors.
- Manage project finances, including profitability and cash flow.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to resolve design conflicts.
- Lead strategic planning and project submittal processes.
- Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.
- Research and suggest options on construction means, methods, and timelines.
- Approve payment supplier and subcontractor invoices.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards.
- Maintain and develop client relationships.
- Identify and engage in pursuing upcoming work.
- Oversee CAD, fabrication, and field labor resources.
- Enforce procedures, rules, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Projects, Office, Excel, and Word.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
- Ability to organize and curate documents related to work orders and personnel.
- Aptitude to learn new systems and technologies.
- Mechanical knowledge and project management expertise.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the construction field, leading projects up to $15 million.
- Experience with AutoBid, P6 Scheduler, and Bluebeam is preferred.
- Mechanical piping experience.
- Experience in the pharma and healthcare sectors.
The role involves working in a fast-paced construction office environment, requiring excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders. The position requires consistent dependability and availability, with the potential to lead multiple projects simultaneously.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
