Job Title: Construction Foreman
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced leader to oversee civil construction projects involving both grading and underground utility installation. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in site grading and pipe work, with the ability to manage teams, coordinate equipment, and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to specifications.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of grading and pipe crews.
- Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and utility layouts.
- Oversee trenching, pipe laying, backfilling, and compaction operations.
- Ensure proper installation of storm, sewer, and water systems.
- Monitor progress and adjust crew assignments to meet deadlines.
- Enforce safety protocols and trench box requirements.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Track crew hours, production, and material usage.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction, with at least 2 years as a foreman.
- Experience in both grading and underground pipe installation.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to operate or direct heavy equipment as needed.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and trench safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing heavy equipment operating crew.
- Ability to run multiple pieces of equipment (Dozer, Track Hoe, Grader) at the highest level.
- GPS (Trimble/TopCon) working experience.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Summerville, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $32.00/hr.
