Job Description
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting commercial plumbing systems for both new construction and remodel projects. You will work on above‑ground and underground systems, interpret blueprints and specifications, and ensure all installations meet applicable codes and performance standards. The position requires strong rough‑in experience, precise layout skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with other trades on active job sites.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial plumbing systems with proper layout, slope, and full code compliance.
- Assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot venting systems to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Work with copper piping, including cutting, soldering, brazing, and performing repairs as needed.
- Install and repair cast iron systems using appropriate joining methods, tools, and best practices.
- Perform above‑ground plumbing installations for new construction and remodeling projects.
- Handle underground plumbing work, including installation and repair of sewer, water, and drainage systems.
- Perform underground rough‑in work, including layout and installation of sanitary, storm, and water lines according to project specifications.
- Complete in‑wall rough‑ins, ensuring accurate installation of piping, supports, and fixtures during early construction phases.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, plumbing drawings, and job specifications to plan and execute plumbing layouts accurately.
- Lay out jobs on site using tape measures and other layout tools to measure, mark, and install plumbing components correctly.
- Coordinate plumbing rough‑in work with other trades to ensure efficient sequencing and integration of systems.
- Verify that all work aligns with plumbing codes, project requirements, and quality standards.
- Proven experience performing underground rough‑in work, including layout and installation of sanitary, storm, and water lines per project specifications.
- Strong experience with in‑wall rough‑ins, including accurate installation of piping, supports, and fixtures during early construction phases.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plumbing drawings, and specifications with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficiency in job site layout, including measuring, marking, and installing using a tape measure and other layout tools.
- Solid understanding of plumbing systems, applicable codes, and coordination requirements with other trades during rough‑in stages.
- Hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting venting systems.
- Skill in working with copper piping, including cutting, soldering, brazing, and performing repairs.
- Experience installing and repairing cast iron systems using proper joining methods and tools.
- Capability to perform both above‑ground and underground plumbing installations for commercial projects.
- Plumbing certifications preferred, but not required.

Work Environment
This is a full‑time, on‑site role with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You will work in active construction environments, performing both above‑ground and underground plumbing tasks using standard construction tools and equipment such as tape measures, layout tools, and plumbing installation tools. The work involves collaboration with other trades on job sites and requires adherence to safety practices and site procedures.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Summerville, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
