Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
Join a food manufacturing warehouse team where you will operate various material handling equipment, support inventory control using an ERP system, and ensure products move safely and efficiently through the facility. You will work in both cold and warm environments, handle packaged food products, and perform physically active tasks that include lifting, loading, unloading, and organizing inventory.
Responsibilities
- Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts to move pallets, materials, and finished goods safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse.
- Use reach trucks to access and store products at various rack heights while following all safety procedures.
- Drive straight trucks or U-Haultype vehicles as needed to move materials or products within or between locations, following applicable safety and operational guidelines.
- Perform order picking and packing tasks accurately, using RF scanners or other tools to locate, select, and prepare items for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and other vehicles, ensuring products are handled carefully and stacked or staged properly.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by checking in materials, verifying quantities, labeling products, and preparing outgoing shipments.
- Use an ERP inventory system to record movements, track stock levels, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Assist with warehouse inventory activities, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and organization of storage areas.
- Handle packaging and production support tasks as needed, including staging materials for production and returning finished goods to storage.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely, maintaining awareness of surroundings and traffic in the facility.
- Work effectively in cold storage areas and warm environments, following food safety and facility guidelines at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by following housekeeping standards and warehouse safety procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating stand-up forklifts in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts for material handling and product movement.
- Experience operating reach trucks to store and retrieve products from racking systems.
- Ability to use an ERP inventory system to track, update, and manage inventory records.
- Hands-on experience in a warehouse or food production environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift.
- Experience with order picking, packing, and using RF scanners for inventory and shipping tasks.

- Ability to follow safety procedures and warehouse best practices consistently.
- Willingness to support multiple warehouse functions, including production support, packaging, and general material handling.

Work Environment
This position is based in a mid- to large-size food manufacturing facility that includes both warehouse and production areas. You will regularly work in cold storage environments as well as warmer zones, depending on the task and product being handled. The facility uses forklifts (stand-up and sit-down), reach trucks, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and an ERP inventory system as part of daily operations. Work is performed on-site with significant time spent on your feet, walking, lifting, and operating equipment. The role follows structured shift schedules, with a first shift from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday and a second shift from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM Monday through Friday. You will work around food products and related odors, and you are expected to follow all food safety and warehouse safety guidelines while maintaining a neat and professional appearance appropriate for a manufacturing and warehouse setting.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sioux Falls, SD.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
