Job Description
This role supports a large hospital system during the implementation of a new payroll platform. The Payroll Associate works alongside a team of three payroll professionals to accurately process and manage biweekly payroll for more than 7,000 full-time employees. This is a minimum 12‑month contract position with the potential to be extended or converted to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Process and administer biweekly payroll for over 7,000 full-time employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate closely with three other payroll team members to ensure consistent and compliant payroll operations.
- Support the implementation and transition to a new payroll platform, contributing to data validation and process testing as needed.
- Review payroll data for accuracy, including hours worked, deductions, and other pay-related information.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies by researching issues and coordinating with relevant departments.
- Maintain organized payroll records and documentation in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in responding to employee inquiries related to payroll, ensuring clear and professional communication.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes and procedures during and after the platform implementation.
- Proven experience in payroll processing within a large organization.
- Hands-on experience with UKG/Kronos payroll systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling high-volume payroll data.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative payroll team.
- Solid understanding of payroll principles and practices for biweekly payroll cycles.
- Proficiency in handling sensitive payroll information with a high degree of confidentiality.
- Experience supporting payroll operations in a healthcare or hospital environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with payroll system implementations or transitions is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and respond to employee payroll questions.
This position is based in an office environment within a hospital system. The Payroll Associate works on-site as part of a small, collaborative payroll team. The role involves regular use of payroll software, including UKG/Kronos, and standard office technology such as computers, email, and productivity tools. Work typically follows a standard business schedule aligned with biweekly payroll cycles, with periods of higher activity around payroll processing dates. Professional office attire is expected.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
