Job Description
The Quality Control Inspector performs dimensional and visual inspections throughout the production cycle to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. This role uses precision measuring equipment and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) to verify conformance on nuclear, DoE, DoD, and AS9100/ISO9001 projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional inspections (first article, in-process, and final) utilizing conventional precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and digital height gages.
- Conduct precise dimensional inspections at every stage of production to verify that products meet drawing specifications, GD&T requirements, and customer quality standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to inspection activities.
- Document all inspection results accurately and maintain traceability throughout the production cycle.
- Perform receipt inspection of materials, parts, and consumables, and execute QC witness/hold points per work travelers.
- Ensure all inspection activities meet QA program and customer requirements, and interface with customers and production personnel.
- Experience with dimensional inspection and measurement using precision equipment and CMMs.
- Proficiency in using micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T.
- Experience conducting audits.
- Familiarity with Faro, Keyence, Zeiss, and Faro Arm.
- Experience in quality assurance and quality control environments, particularly in nuclear, DoE, DoD, and AS9100/ISO9001 projects.

Work Environment
Work in a machine shop environment with a schedule of 1st shift from 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with potential for a transition to four 10-hour shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chattanooga, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
