Job Description
As a Burn Table Operator, you will be responsible for operating cutting machinery, utilizing technical drawings, and ensuring precision in materials handling and cutting processes. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills in a collaborative team setting.
Responsibilities
- Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, bills of material, and cutting lists.
- Set up, adjust, and operate Multi-Torch, hand torch, Plasma flame cut, and Oxygen-Acetylene flame cutting equipment.
- Perform grinding and de-burring as required.
- Obtain oxygen and acetylene cylinders from stock as needed.
- Select raw materials to be cut using technical drawings to determine cutting methods.
- Position materials using an overhead crane.
- Perform simple cleaning maintenance operations.
- Scribe from patterns and perform simple layout tasks.
- Report abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations, ensuring the work area is clean and orderly.
- Read a tape measure accurately.
- Operate the metal band saw to cut steel for parts when required.
- Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Experience with Oxyfuel or plasma cutting machine.
- Crane and forklift experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings/blueprints and utilize a tape measure.
- Experience in machine operating and fabrication.
- Proficiency in burn table, burner, laser, plasma torch, laser operation, and plasma cutting.

Work Environment
Work in a machine shop environment that is non-temperature controlled, requiring you to be on your feet for 10-12 hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hixson, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
