Job Title: Engineering Technician


Job Description

Assist higher-level technicians or staff professionals with tasks, perform basic testing and observations duties under their supervision, and provide clear documentation of findings and results. Communicate information to the Project Manager, discuss data accuracy for submittal preparation, and submit documentation as directed.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in tasks and perform basic testing and observations under supervision.
  • Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
  • Communicate information to the Project Manager and discuss data accuracy.
  • Submit documentation and communicate results as directed.
  • Participate in progressively increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.
  • Maintain assigned equipment.
  • Follow safety rules and practices for all projects.
  • Perform pre-task planning before executing work.
  • Conduct Near Miss Reporting and Site Safety Check-ins.
  • Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
  • Obtain certification to operate mobile elevated work platforms and suspended scaffolding.
  • Comfortably work from heights.
  • Maintain quality standards on all projects.
  • Be willing and capable of traveling for out-of-town jobs, including overnight stays.

Essential Skills

  • Engineering background with emphasis on civil engineering and environmental engineering.
  • Ability to perform inspections.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in an engineering-related field.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience required.
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Work Environment

The role involves working in various environments, including heights, requiring the operation of mobile elevated work platforms and suspended scaffolding. The position may require travel for out-of-town jobs, with typical overnight stays ranging from 1 or 2 nights to several weeks. A commitment to safety and quality standards is essential.
