Job Title: Forklift Operator / Production Operator
Job Description
The Production Operator supports manufacturing and warehouse operations by safely operating a sit-down Hilo forklift and overhead crane to move raw materials, finished goods, and production supplies. This position combines material handling with hands-on production line support to maintain an efficient workflow, accurate inventory, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards in a modern stamping facility.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a sit-down Hilo forklift to unload raw materials, move finished goods, and transport production supplies throughout the facility.
- Operate an overhead crane to unload raw materials and move heavy components as needed.
- Maintain an orderly stockroom by organizing, storing, and rotating materials in designated locations.
- Pull and stage raw materials and components for production according to work orders and schedules.
- Use a tape measure to verify product dimensions and ensure accurate staging for stamping presses.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and overhead cranes, and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Remove finished goods from production areas and transfer them to appropriate storage or shipping locations.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, receipts, and production supplies using warehouse management systems (WMS) or production logs.
- Check product labels, quantities, and lot numbers against work orders to confirm accuracy before staging or shipping.
- Inspect materials and products for damage or defects prior to staging for production and communicate issues to supervisors.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints or production specifications to support correct material staging and product verification.
- Use hand tools and measuring devices such as calipers as needed for inspection, set-up, or basic fabrication tasks.
- Support machine operation, including assisting with set up, change over, and basic fabrication tasks associated with stamping operations.
- Participate in the testing of dies and product trials by helping remove, reset, grease, modify, and reassemble die sets as directed
- Work on your feet for the duration of the shift and frequently lift and move materials up to 50 pounds or more.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating or working around overhead cranes for material handling.
- Experience with unloading, staging, handling finished goods, and managing inventory in a production setting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to support equipment-related tasks and die handling.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately to verify product dimensions.
- Ability to perform basic quality checks and visual inspections for damage or defects.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking using warehouse management systems (WMS) or production logs.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and perform repetitive motions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Strong attention to detail when checking labels, quantities, lot numbers, and work orders.

Work Environment
This role is based in a brand-new stamping department within a large, clean manufacturing facility that houses fully enclosed, highly automated press equipment. You will work primarily on the production floor and in warehouse and staging areas, operating a sit-down Hilo forklift and overhead crane while supporting die testing, product trials, and production runs. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the expectation that you remain available to stay until 5:30 p.m. as needed for overtime. Saturday work is currently not required but is desired and may become more frequent as production ramps up. During your first week, you will attend training from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., after which you will report directly to the plant for your regular shift. The position is physically demanding and requires standing for an entire shift, performing repetitive motions, and frequently lifting and moving materials up to 50 pounds or more. Personal protective equipment is required, including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, and a high-visibility vest.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
