Job Title: Environmental Services Technician (North Austin)
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout a modern hospital facility. The Environmental Services Technician cleans patient rooms, discharge rooms, and public areas, ensuring that all spaces meet strict sanitation standards to support patient care and overall hospital safety.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including occupied and discharge rooms, according to established hospital protocols.
- Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other common spaces throughout the hospital.
- Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces, fixtures, and equipment to meet sanitation and safety standards.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in patient rooms, corridors, and public areas as assigned.
- Collect, remove, and properly dispose of trash and soiled laundry from designated areas.
- Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and other cleaning materials in restrooms and other areas.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
- Experience in a hospital or hotel environment (preferred).
- Ability to work comfortably in a medical setting, including exposure to blood and trauma.
- Ability to lift and push 5075 pounds as part of daily duties.
- Ability to stand and be on your feet for 68 hours per day.
- Strong attention to cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a very fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and flexibility to work rotating weekends and any assigned shift.
Work Environment
This position is based in a modern, fast-paced hospital environment that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will work on a set shift schedule with options across first shift (7:00 a.m.3:30 p.m.), second shift (3:00 p.m.11:30 p.m.), and third shift (10:30 p.m.7:00 a.m.), and you will participate in a rotating weekend schedule.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
