Job Description
The EVS Technician plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout a modern North Austin hospital. This position focuses on cleaning patient rooms, discharge rooms, and public areas to support patient safety, infection control, and a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including occupied and discharge rooms, following hospital sanitation standards and procedures.
- Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, hallways, restrooms, and other common spaces throughout the hospital.
- Wipe down and disinfect surfaces, including high-touch areas, furniture, fixtures, and equipment, to support infection control and safety.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in patient rooms and public areas to maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Remove trash, bio-waste, and laundry from patient rooms and designated areas in accordance with hospital policies and safety guidelines.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of housekeeping or janitorial experience.
- Experience in a hospital or hotel environment is preferred.
- Comfortable working in a medical setting that may involve exposure to blood, trauma, and other clinical conditions.
- Ability to lift and push 50–75 pounds as part of daily tasks.

Work Environment
This position is based in a modern, fast-paced hospital environment that operates 24/7. EVS Technicians work across patient care areas and public spaces, supporting a high standard of cleanliness and safety. Shifts are available on first (7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.), second (3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.), and third (10:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.) shifts, with rotating weekend schedules. The work involves frequent walking, standing for 6–8 hours per day, and lifting or pushing 50–75 pounds, such as carts, laundry, and waste bins. The hospital is described as very clean and modern, providing an orderly and professional setting with up-to-date facilities and equipment, and an environment focused on patient care, safety, and teamwork.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
