Job Title: Aviation Technician (A&P Mechanics – Military and Corporate Aircraft)
Job Description
This role offers experienced aviation technicians, particularly those with a military aircraft maintenance experience, the opportunity to transition into corporate aviation. You will apply your expertise in airframe, engine, structural, avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems while receiving training on corporate aircraft platforms. The position focuses on high-quality maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspections in a high-tempo environment, with a clear pathway to obtain and be reimbursed for your A&P license.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and overhaul on aircraft airframes, engines, structures, avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct intermediate or depot-level maintenance using a wide range of hand and power tools in accordance with technical data and procedures.
- Remove and install aircraft panels and components to support inspections, repairs, and system access.
- Perform detailed aircraft and component inspections to identify discrepancies, ensure airworthiness, and maintain documentation.
- Operate and test aircraft engines and auxiliary power units (APUs), including start, run, and shutdown procedures.
- Troubleshoot aircraft faults and perform Fault Isolation Procedures (FIP) using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Operate aircraft tugs and related ground support equipment safely and in compliance with facility procedures.
- Follow all maintenance manuals, technical orders, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and safety.
- Collaborate with other technicians and support staff to complete maintenance tasks efficiently in a high-tempo environment.
- Participate in corporate aircraft maintenance training to expand skills and adapt military experience to corporate aviation platforms.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs performed on aircraft and components.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning new maintenance skills and continuously improving technical capabilities.
Essential Skills
- 3–4 years of military aircraft maintenance experience required; 6–10+ years of experience strongly preferred.
- Broad knowledge and hands-on experience with airframe, engine, structural, avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Intermediate or depot-level maintenance experience on military aircraft platforms.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand tools and power tools for aircraft maintenance.
- Experience removing and installing aircraft panels and components.
- Experience performing aircraft and component inspections in accordance with technical guidance.
- Experience with engine and APU operation and testing.
- Ability to troubleshoot aircraft faults and perform Fault Isolation Procedures (FIP).
- Experience operating aircraft tugs and ground support equipment.
- Preferred military aircraft maintenance experience on platforms such as F-18, F/A-18, F-16, F-15, F-22, F-35, C-130, KC-135, E-3, E-2, EA-18, B-1, or B-52.
- 5+ years of military experience for technician level 1 roles.
- 3+ years of corporate aircraft maintenance experience for technician level 2 roles.
- Preferred military occupational specialties including USMC 60/61/62, Navy AM/AD, Army 15R/15T/15U, and USAF 2A3/2A5.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proven experience in aircraft repair and maintenance.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-tempo, mission-focused maintenance environment.
- Willingness and ability to learn new maintenance skills and adapt to corporate aircraft platforms.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred experience with corporate aircraft such as Embraer Phenom 100/300/Legacy, Praetor 500/600, and Cessna Citation XL/XLS/Latitude for technician level 2 roles.
- Experience in aviation maintenance, including airframe and powerplant systems.
- Exposure to avionics and electrical systems troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience working with aircraft engines, hydraulics, and auxiliary power units (APUs).
- Familiarity with depot-level maintenance environments and processes.
- Experience using multimeters and other diagnostic tools for electrical and systems troubleshooting.
- Interest in obtaining an A&P license, with an opportunity to earn the license and receive test reimbursement.
- Prior experience in Air Force, Naval Aviation, or other military aviation units.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Ability to follow technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and regulatory standards accurately.

Work Environment
You will work in a corporate aircraft service center and FAA Part 145 repair station focused on maintaining and supporting corporate aircraft fleets. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with exposure to advanced aircraft systems and modern maintenance practices. You will use a variety of hand tools, power tools, multimeters, and ground support equipment such as aircraft tugs. Work may include weekend and night shifts, with pay differentials provided for these schedules. The facility emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and teamwork, providing a professional setting where technicians can apply and expand their skills on high-performance corporate aircraft.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
