This position can be based at 19E in Hershey, PA or our Dallas office located in Frisco, TX.

This will be a hybrid role

At Hershey, data is more than numbers-it shapes the future of snacking. Our data scientists apply advanced analytics to understand consumers, forecast trends, and optimize business performance.

As an economist in this role, you will create statistical tools that embed causal interpretations. You will utilize massive data, state-of-the-art econometrics (causal, counterfactual/structural, experimentation) and machine-learning methods, to do so. You will create insights from descriptive statistics, as well as from novel statistical and econometric models. You will create internal-to-Hershey- scientific data products to power company decisions. You will write strategic documents explaining how senior company leaders should utilize these insights to create sustainable value for customers.In this role, you will use scientific principles to analyze complex datasets, develop scalable models, and deliver insights that directly impact iconic Hershey brands.

Qualifications:
  • Strong background in model development and validation.
  • D emonstrated capacity for building, estimating, and defending statistical models (e.g., causal, counterfactual, machine-learning)Experience in analytics and applied economics
  • Experience in forecasting, experimentation, and optimizationExperience in industry, consulting, government or academic researchProficiency in Python or similar tools; working knowledge of SQL.
  • PhD in economics or equivalent; with 3+ years of relevant experience.
