Job Description
Join a rapidly growing manufacturer of electrical panels and switchgear as an Electrical Quality Inspector in the electrical assembly department. In this role, you perform high-voltage electrical testing, detailed visual and dimensional inspections, and thorough documentation to ensure products meet strict quality and safety standards. You work closely with production and engineering teams to identify root causes of issues, recommend corrective actions, and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-voltage electrical testing on assembled units using multimeters, megohmmeters, and contact resistance testers.
- Conduct Hi-Pot, insulation resistance, contact resistance, functional operation, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on electrical panels and switchgear.
- Carry out visual inspections of welds and electrical assemblies to verify workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to confirm that assemblies meet design requirements.
- Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Prepare clear and detailed inspection reports documenting test results, findings, and any deviations from standards.
- Create and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring that issues are accurately documented and communicated.
- Perform quality audits on assemblies, processes, and documentation to maintain consistent quality standards.
- Collaborate with production, welding, and electrical assembly teams to address quality concerns in real time.
- Support factory acceptance testing activities with customers or internal stakeholders when required.
- Perform general labor tasks related to quality and assembly using hand tools and power tools when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Work extended hours, including long shifts and frequent overtime, to support production demands and testing schedules.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of quality control inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in high-voltage electrical inspection and electrical testing in a production setting.
- Hands-on experience using multimeters, megohmmeters, and contact resistance testers.
- Ability to perform Hi-Pot, insulation resistance, contact resistance, and functional operation tests.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Experience preparing detailed inspection reports and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Demonstrated experience conducting root cause investigations for quality issues.
- Experience in quality control, quality assurance, auditing, and inspection within electrical manufacturing.
- Experience working with high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage electrical assemblies.
- Capability to perform visual inspections of welds and electrical components.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail in reporting and record keeping.
- High level of initiative and the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
- Ability and willingness to work long shifts and multiple days per week, including extended overtime.

Work Environment
You work in a medium-sized manufacturing facility of approximately 100,000 square feet that is growing quickly and expanding into additional locations. The shop is not air-conditioned but uses numerous fans to circulate air, and the facility remains clean despite a high volume of product and materials due to strong demand.
The dress code requires steel-toe footwear, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses to maintain a safe working environment.
Day shift typically runs Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. until around 6:00 p.m. or later, with standard 12-hour days and frequent overtime, while night shift typically runs Monday through Saturday from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., with the possibility of Sunday work depending on production needs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $40.00/hr.
