Job Description
This role operates forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely load, unload, move, and store products within a warehouse environment. The position supports inbound and outbound shipments, maintains accurate inventory records, and ensures materials are stored and handled in a safe and organized manner. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed. The role involves working with forklifts and may require working at heights of up to six feet. This position is designated as safety sensitive and requires a strong commitment to safe work practices.
Responsibilities
- Use forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload trucks for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Handle inbound freight from parcel and freight carriers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of deliveries.
- Locate and pick materials into and out of warehouse racks and between locations according to work orders and inventory requirements.
- Operate all assigned material handling equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with company procedures and safety guidelines.
- Inspect material handling equipment before use to confirm it is in safe operating condition and report any defects or concerns immediately.
- Report all accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to a supervisor without delay.
- Stock and arrange products in warehouse racks and designated storage locations to support proper inventory rotation and warehouse turns.
- Perform cycle counts to determine accurate material quantities and identify discrepancies in inventory.
- Receive materials into inventory and move materials between designated locations while maintaining accurate quantity and location records.
- Enter and verify accurate part numbers, quantities, and related data in electronic inventory systems to maintain up-to-date records of receipts, inventories, and locations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving material quantities, part numbers, and location data.
- Ensure pallets are stable and properly secured, observing pallet height limits and safe stacking practices.
- Protect materials, racking, and equipment from damage during handling and storage, and ensure materials are not left in aisles or other unsafe locations.
- Follow safe material handling techniques at all times, including proper lifting, stacking, and equipment operation practices.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area by performing housekeeping tasks as assigned.
- Work overtime and weekends as required to support business needs and meet shipping and receiving deadlines.
Essential Skills
- Proven ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment handling inbound and outbound shipments.
- Strong skills in material handling, including loading, unloading, picking, and stocking products.
- Ability to work safely at heights up to six feet when required.
- Competence in performing cycle counts and determining accurate material quantities.
- Ability to accurately enter and verify part numbers, quantities, and location data in electronic inventory systems.
- Attention to detail in identifying and resolving discrepancies in material quantities and part numbers.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
- Capability to perform general labor tasks, including housekeeping and maintaining a clean work area.
- Willingness and availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

- Previous experience using parcel and freight carrier processes (such as small package and LTL shipments) in a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse racking systems and safe pallet stacking practices.
