Mechanical Designer levels 3 and 4


Job Description

We are looking to hire several Piping Designers to join our team in designing piping systems using AutoCAD-based software and ShipConstructor. This role is crucial in supporting our shipyard projects, specifically for the United States Coast Guard's large vessel designs. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with other Designers and Engineers. This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.


Responsibilities

  • Design piping systems using AutoCAD-based software.
  • Translate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) into 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure design accuracy and project success.
  • Communicate frequently with Designers and Engineers to align on project requirements and updates.
  • Utilize specialized shipbuilding software that integrates with ShipConstructor.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and mechanical design.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with ShipConstructor. (flexible to less if willing to learn)
  • At least 2 years of experience working on piping detail design within the maritime community.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems and instrumentation diagrams.
  • Ability to translate P&IDs into 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
