Transmission Line Engineer (Remote)
We are seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to support the design and delivery of transmission line projects for utility clients. This role works closely with engineers, designers, clients, and project teams to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions from planning through construction.
What You’ll Do
- Perform engineering and design for transmission line projects, including routing, structural analysis, foundation design, material selection, and construction support
- Prepare project deliverables such as drawings, specifications, schedules, and bills of material
- Develop design alternatives and cost estimates to support project decisions
- Design transmission facilities ranging from 12 kV to 765 kV
- Use PLS-CADD to model and analyze transmission line projects
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to support project execution
- Participate in bid meetings, construction meetings, and occasional site visits
- Support project leadership activities, including coordination, mentoring, and tracking project progress
What You Bring
- 2–5 years of experience in transmission line engineering/design
- Experience delivering engineering projects from start to finish
- Proficiency with PLS-CADD
- Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of transmission line design, structures, foundations, and routing
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- EIT certification
- Experience leading project tasks or coordinating teams
- Experience with cost estimates, material ordering, and construction support
- Ability to mentor junior engineers or designers
Work Environment
This is a fully remote role with occasional travel for client meetings and site visits. The position offers a collaborative team environment with strong partnership between engineers, designers, and project stakeholders.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
