Job Title: Engineering Coordinator
Job Description
The Engineering Coordinator supports the engineering team by organizing projects, managing schedules, tracking documentation, and ensuring accurate and timely submittals for state certification. This role serves as a critical link between the shop floor and the engineering team, providing clear communication on project status, issues, and priorities while coordinating multiple projects in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate engineering projects by organizing schedules, documentation, and priorities across multiple active projects.
- Walk the shop floor daily to observe progress, gather updates, and take detailed notes on project status and issues.
- Communicate shop floor updates and issues to Project Managers and Project Engineers to ensure timely resolution and alignment.
- Serve as the final reviewer for submittal packages prior to sending them to the state for certification, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Track all submittals sent to the state and monitor the status of approvals, following up as needed to keep projects moving forward.
- Use Excel to track project details, timelines, and milestones, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Support the engineering team with project-related documentation, including document review and coordination of submittal drawings.
- Manage and prioritize 8–9 projects at a time, working closely with Project Engineers to understand priorities and stay on task.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting to support smooth project execution and timely delivery.
Essential Skills
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working as a project coordinator in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience working as an engineering coordinator or in a closely related engineering support role.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and environments.
- Ability to read and understand Bills of Materials (BOM) and fabrication drawings.
- At least 2+ years of hands-on experience using Excel for tracking projects and managing data.
- Experience with document review and coordination of submittal drawings.
- Familiarity with state certification processes and tracking submittals and approvals.
- Proven experience providing project support in a technical or engineering-focused environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing technical documentation and submittal packages.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise between the shop floor and engineering teams.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
