Senior Distribution Engineer
We are seeking a Senior Distribution Engineer to support the growth of electric power distribution services across the U.S. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who can deliver high-quality solutions for utility capital projects while contributing to a growing team backed by a broader network of infrastructure expertise.
This position is remote/home-based, with a Texas location preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support distribution engineering design for utility capital projects, including grid hardening, resilience initiatives, asset replacement, and new design-build programs.
- Apply utility standards, engineering best practices, and relevant codes to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant designs.
- Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and project stakeholders to meet schedule, quality, and delivery goals.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and quality oversight for distribution projects.
- Support strategic growth by serving as a key technical resource on expanding programs and client relationships.
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in electric utility distribution engineering
- Strong knowledge of distribution design standards, utility processes, and capital project execution
- Experience with programs focused on system hardening, resilience, infrastructure replacement, and design-build delivery
- Background supporting investor-owned utilities or utility-focused engineering firms
- PE license required in at least one state, with ability to obtain additional licensure as needed
Preferred
- Experience supporting large utility programs or portfolio-based project work
- Prior leadership or mentorship experience
- Familiarity with organizations that provide end-to-end power engineering support across utility infrastructure
Work Environment
This is a remote role supporting utility infrastructure programs across multiple service areas. The position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment that combines technical depth, practical execution, and the resources of a larger utility services platform.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
