Job Description
The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a fast-paced operations team by ensuring accurate and on-time shipment processing. This position serves as a critical link between production, warehouse teams, carriers, and internal stakeholders, managing shipping documentation, coordinating logistics activities, and maintaining precise data in internal systems. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment, enjoys working with data and logistics, and takes pride in accuracy, organization, and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing lists, and labels, ensuring all information is accurate and complete.
- Verify order accuracy by comparing system records with physical shipments to confirm correct items, quantities, and destinations.
- Enter, update, and maintain shipment data in internal systems to ensure real-time visibility and traceability of orders.
- Organize and maintain shipping records to support compliance requirements and audit readiness.
- Schedule carrier pickups and confirm delivery timelines to meet customer and operational deadlines.
- Communicate clear shipping instructions and any special requirements to carriers and internal teams.
- Track shipments proactively and provide status updates, resolving shipping discrepancies and delivery issues as they arise.
- Coordinate closely with production and warehouse teams to confirm order readiness and shipping priorities.
- Prioritize outbound shipments based on deadlines, client expectations, and operational constraints.
- Assist with outbound shipment audits and inventory verification to support accurate stock levels and documentation.
- Respond promptly to shipping-related inquiries from internal teams and customers, providing clear and timely information.
- Provide tracking information and shipment updates to stakeholders to ensure transparency and alignment.
- Escalate issues that may impact delivery timelines to the appropriate parties and help drive timely resolutions.
- 2–3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, dispatch, transportation, supply chain, or clerical operations.
- Hands-on experience handling shipping documentation such as bills of lading, labels, and packing lists.
- Strong data entry accuracy with consistent and reliable use of internal systems.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of shipment processing and documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with carriers, internal teams, and customers.
- Teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with production, warehouse, and operations staff.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or clerical support roles is preferred.
- Experience with ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
- International shipping experience and familiarity with international shipping requirements.
- Experience working in a warehouse or production environment.
- Background in customer service, shipping and receiving, freight, or operations support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Strong organizational skills to manage documentation, records, and multiple concurrent shipments.
This role is office-based and involves frequent cross-functional collaboration with operations and logistics teams, as well as regular interaction with production and warehouse personnel. The position follows a weekday schedule, typically Monday through Friday, with standard shifts such as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The environment is fast-paced and high-volume, requiring consistent attention to detail, responsiveness, and effective coordination across departments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mesquite, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
