Job Title: Automation Engineer

Job Description

The Automation Engineer is responsible for managing construction and service projects from inception to completion. This includes sizing valves, creating wiring diagrams based on provided data, and applying the sequence of operations to the equipment. The role involves building software from a standard library and modifying it as needed. The engineer will interface with project managers and sales staff to address project discrepancies, and handle technical issues by troubleshooting and connecting controllers. The base product is developed in Python, and the role requires knowledge of SQL Server and networking frameworks, including Cat 5/Cat 6 cabling and Ethernet switches.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction/service projects from start to finish.
• Size valves and create wiring diagrams based on submittal data.
• Apply sequence of operations to equipment.
• Build and modify software from a standard library.
• Interface with project managers and sales staff to resolve project issues.
• Conduct as-built documentation upon project completion.
• Troubleshoot technical issues by connecting to controllers.
• Engage in visual programming using Python.
• Work with SQL Server and database connectivity.
• Set up networking frameworks, including cabling and Ethernet switches.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in automation and control systems.
• Strong electromechanical experience.
• Knowledge of control loops and ladder logic.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with building automation systems.
• PLC programming expertise.
• Experience in electrical and computer science.

Work Environment

The position is based in the Pasadena, TX office, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Local travel to job sites is required. The team consists of 25 people, divided between field engineers and in-house automation/controls engineers.
