Job Title: Desktop Support Technician

Pay: $30-40/hr

Duration: 6 month contract-to-hire

Workplace Type: On-site with some travel

Location: San Antonio, TX 78230

Approximate Start Date: May 18, 2025


Description:

A Fortune 500 company and leader in the mining/construction industry is looking for a Senior Level Desktop Support Technician to join their technical support services organization. The candidate will serve as the sole Desktop Support specialist for the company's secondary headquarters located in San Antonio, TX.


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support in a Windows 10/11 environment.
  • Serving executives at the location and setting up conference calls and meetings (experience with Google Meet or Teams required).
  • New user setups, installations, configurations of desktops/laptops, printers, mobile devices, etc.
  • IMAC work including cabling and connectivity.

Additionally, the candidate will act as the primary backup to field technicians supporting remote sites within a couple of hours' radius. These sites, often outdoors (e.g., quarries, mines, sales yards), require support for a full complement of technologies.


Top Skills Required:

  1. Onsite/hands-on technical support for hardware (laptops/desktops, printers, mobile devices) and software (Windows, Google Suite/Google Meet).
  2. Travel to remote locations to provide additional technical support, including cabling infrastructure.
  3. World-class customer service, especially executive-level support.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

This role is onsite at the main location and will require travel (as needed) to remote sites. When travel is needed, the candidate will have access to a company vehicle. Business casual (plus) attire is required. Must be willing to submit to pre-employment background and drug screenings.
