The Mechanical Engineering Lead provides technical leadership and hands-on support for commissioning, installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems in a large industrial semiconductor environment. This role reviews, understands, and interprets commissioning support documentation related to piping construction and industrial process equipment, and applies strong millwright, mechanical, and industrial electrical skills to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of complex systems.
Responsibilities- Review, understand, and interpret commissioning support documentation for piping construction and industrial process equipment, including scrubbers, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, air handling units, and chemical distribution cabinets.
- Lead and perform equipment setting and alignment activities, ensuring precise installation and proper operation of mechanical and rotating equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot bearings, gearboxes, couplings, and associated mechanical components in an industrial environment.
- Work with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including installation, adjustment, and troubleshooting of related equipment.
- Apply millwright skills to rig, move, set, and align heavy industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints, blueprints, and schematics to plan and execute installation and commissioning tasks.
- Perform industrial and commercial electrical installation and troubleshooting, including work on high-voltage and industrial electric systems, in accordance with applicable codes and safety standards.
- Use electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques to diagnose issues with industrial process equipment and implement effective corrective actions.
- Provide supervisory support in the field as needed, guiding and coordinating work activities to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Utilize RMS meters, wire strippers, and other hand tools to perform electrical and mechanical installation, testing, and verification tasks.
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure systems are installed and started up in line with design intent and project documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA requirements, maintaining a safe work area and promoting a strong safety culture on site.
- Document work performed, including updates to prints or schematics as needed, and communicate status and issues clearly to project stakeholders.
- Walk the facility as required to access various work areas within the large semiconductor environment and support multiple concurrent tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to review, understand, and interpret commissioning support documentation for piping construction and industrial process equipment.
- Hands-on experience with equipment setting and alignment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong millwright skills, including handling, installing, and aligning heavy mechanical equipment.
- Practical experience working with bearings, gearboxes, and couplings in industrial applications.
- Proficiency with hydraulics and pneumatics, including installation and troubleshooting.
- Industrial construction or manufacturing experience supporting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical prints, blueprints, and schematics.
- Recent commercial and/or industrial electrical experience, including installation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with high-voltage and industrial electric systems, applied safely and in compliance with codes.
- Mechanical engineering knowledge sufficient to support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of process equipment.
- Electrical engineering knowledge sufficient to interpret schematics and support electrical system work.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills in an industrial setting.
- Supervisory skills to coordinate and support field activities when required.
- Ability to use RMS meters, wire strippers, and standard hand tools effectively and safely.
- Capability to read and work from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Current TDLR license status suitable for journeyman-level responsibilities (can be an apprentice but must be journeyman-ready or close to it).
- Possession of an OSHA 30 certification prior to starting work.
- Ability to provide and use personal hand tools appropriate for mechanical and electrical tasks.
- Ability to perform physically active work, including extensive walking in a large facility.
- Background in mechanical engineering with exposure to industrial process equipment such as scrubbers, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
- Experience working with chemical distribution cabinets and related industrial process systems.
- Electronics knowledge to support troubleshooting of equipment with integrated electronic components.
- Familiarity with semiconductor or similarly complex, high-technology industrial environments.
- Comfort working in a role that blends mechanical, electrical, and supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in installation and commissioning work.
- Effective communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and document technical work clearly.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a very large semiconductor facility of approximately 2 million square feet that is designed to be safe, secure, and professionally managed. The work involves significant walking throughout the site to access various production and utility areas. You will work around industrial process equipment such as scrubbers, tanks, heat exchangers, boilers, chillers, air handling units, and chemical distribution cabinets, as well as associated mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The environment is industrial and technical, with a strong emphasis on safety procedures and compliance with OSHA standards. You will regularly use hand tools, RMS meters, wire strippers, and related equipment to perform your tasks. Steel or composite toe boots are required as part of the standard protective dress code on site.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
