📌 Fiber Splicing Technician – Temple TTX Site
⭐ $40–$45/hr + $110/day Per Diem
We are seeking five highly skilled Fiber Splicing Technicians to support our TTX operations in Temple, TX. These technicians will perform advanced fusion splicing on reduced‑diameter fiber (200µm & 250µm), high‑strand‑count cables, and ribbon fiber. This role requires precision, consistency, and the ability to deliver low‑loss splicing results in a fast‑paced telecom environment.
Technicians will work across field and shop environments performing splicing, testing, documentation, and quality verification. Candidates must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively while maintaining strict adherence to safety and industry standards.
🔧 Skills & Responsibilities
- Advanced Fusion Splicing of 200µm & 250µm fiber
- Mass Fusion (Ribbon) Splicing with consistent low‑loss results
- Single‑Fiber Precision Splicing for loose‑tube and high‑strand‑count cables
- Perform fiber prep, cleaning, cleaving, and splice protection
- Execute splice case installation, fiber routing, and tray organization
- Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light‑source testing
- Read and interpret splice diagrams, fiber maps, and engineering prints
- Complete documentation, labeling, and quality control logs
- Troubleshoot fiber issues and perform corrective repairs
- Collaborate with construction, engineering, and QA teams
🎯 Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven ability to perform mass fusion ribbon splicing
- Experience with high‑strand‑count fiber and reduced‑diameter fiber
- Ability to achieve low‑loss splice results consistently
- Proficiency with OTDR, power meter, and fiber test equipment
- Ability to read fiber schematics, splice plans, and engineering prints
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
- Ability to work in outdoor/field environments as needed

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
