The HVAC Test Lab Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and functioning of the Engineering Lab facilities, ensuring they are operationally efficient and reliable. Responsible for improving asset utilization, uptime and testing throughout by managing Professional Maintenance. The Maintenance & Facilities Manager is responsible for day-to-day activities of directing, controlling, and coordinating the Maintenance Department by managing lab facilities and equipment maintenance to produce quality testing.

- Continually reduces equipment downtime and increases availability through the establishment of a preventive/predictive maintenance program (including failure analysis) designed, directed, monitored, and continually improved.
- Support all Safety and Environmental programs for the Engineering Lab.
- Establish and monitor key measures to ensure that a comprehensive and effective maintenance and reliability program is in place.
- Direct and manage the Engineering Lab maintenance staff to implement the best maintenance practices and provide technical expertise to reduce costs and improve process uptime and reliability.
- Participate in the capital planning, development, and execution process.
- Assist with troubleshooting and problem solving to eliminate problems and/or repetitive failures.
- Manage all maintenance turnaround activities for safe and timely execution of lab outages. Aggressively seek to minimize cost and duration of turnaround activities.
- Manage the use of contract resources for the site.
- Develop and Manage Maintenance training programs to maintain expertise in areas of specialization, new skill areas, and to continuously develop overall technical competence.
- Ensure operation complies with all governing agencies and its standards, such as UL, ITS, ANSI, ASHRAE, DOE, ISO, OSHA, etc., maintaining the highest levels of integrity.
- Manage multiple projects from inception to completion, focusing on safety, on-time delivery, quality and cost.
- Sustain and develop a safety-oriented culture, focused on zero incidents.
- Establish a 6S driven organization.
- Establish continuous improvement goals and oversee execution of associated actions.
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement using DOE, 8D, 6 Sigma & similar tools to drive positive sustained results.
- Sustain and develop project schedules for all significant initiatives and create a results-oriented culture to hit scheduled milestones and ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure actions are identified and taken to maximize equipment uptime.
- Ensure actions are identified and taken to ensure 100% compliance with calibration schedules.
- Manage departmental budget, resources, and equipment; adjust resources & priorities accordingly.
- Management of personnel; motivate, mentor, train, drive employee engagement and conduct performance management and collaborate with human resources regarding corrective actions as needed.
- Leadership of a large organization that operates 24 hours per day, often beyond a 5-day workweek.
- Lab environment with a high level of focus on safety, productivity, dependability, and integrity.

- Proficient knowledge of engineering lab processes, equipment, systems and standards.
- Advanced knowledge with interpreting, analyzing and validating data to determine actions required to maximize lab uptime.
- Advanced management knowledge of the calibration process in a dynamic environment, ensuring on time delivery & high levels of accuracy.
- Proficient knowledge of problem-solving techniques such as 8D, 6 Sigma, DOE, etc.
- Proficient working knowledge with MS Office - Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Proficient knowledge of project management skills

- 8 plus years of experience in engineering, preferably within HVAC industry
- 3 plus years in a leadership role
- 5 plus years of Facilities and/or Calibration in a related field.
- It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Daily use of computer.
- May have higher noise volume in areas - hearing protection required.
