Project Manager- Wastewater Engineer


Job Description

A growing Utah-based civil engineering firm is seeking a water/wastewater engineer with a Professional Engineer (PE) license and experience in municipal water design or treatment. This position involves leading a team of three Engineers in Training (EITs) on a five-year, $90 million project to replace a 36-inch municipal water line. The role requires expertise in booster pump stations, water tanks, water line replacement, and a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics and water modeling. Experience with lift stations and treatment in either wastewater or culinary water is essential.


Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 3 EITs in the replacement of a 36-inch municipal water line over five years.
  • Design and implement booster pump stations, water tanks, and water line replacements.
  • Utilize water modeling software such as Aquatwin or similar tools.
  • Communicate effectively with mayors and the public to present designs.

MUST HAVE

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Experience in municipal water design or treatment.
  • Proficiency in water modeling software such as Aquatwin.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics and water modeling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in wastewater or culinary water treatment.

Work Environment

The preferred work environment is in-office, five days a week from 8 am to 5 pm, with hourly pay and 1.5x overtime. Water engineers can work in Ogden, Salt Lake, Midvale, or Springville offices. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for the right candidate. The company prioritizes work-life balance and ensures that workflow matches team capabilities to complete work within 40 hours each week.
