Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
This role involves performing project and on-site engineering services including programming, start-up, training, modifications, and troubleshooting on revenue-generating projects. You will also provide project management on multiple projects, which includes managing teams composed of team members, contractors, and customer personnel.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects, including quotation, specification and project plan generation, execution and management, resource allocation and management, material specification and procurement, project documentation, project scheduling, and execution.
- Ensure project on-time performance and profitability.
- Provide independent factory and field troubleshooting and training for control panels used in target markets.
- Develop familiarity and working knowledge to provide backup support for all control panel products.
- Offer secondary technical support to customers, field engineers, and sales channels on configuration, operation, maintenance, programming, and troubleshooting of specific products and applications.
- Support instrument and system-level software and communications for customers.
- Provide recommendations, diagnose, and troubleshoot customer applications remotely or on-site.
- Act as a level of escalation from Technical Support personnel for technical support assistance.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an Associate degree with significant experience.
- Five years of experience with industrial control in support.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Solidworks drawing packages.
- Knowledge of field engineering skills, project management skills, test equipment, electrical safety, and good engineering practices.
- Familiarity with UL508A and NEC electrical standards.
- Expertise in mechanical/electrical engineering and basics of electronics and control theory.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience designing and supporting control panels.
- Understanding of hazardous area requirements.
- Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with control instrumentation.
- Familiarity with configuration and programming of micro-based instrumentation.
- Experience in creating lesson plans and conducting training.
- Self-motivated with good communication skills.
Work Environment
This role operates on a hybrid schedule, with three days onsite and two days remote. You will be part of a team engineering systems using a range of products in industries such as Heat Treat, Life Science, Food & Beverage, Plastics & Water. The work involves the complete mechanical/electrical design of control panels, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with a global clientele.
