Job Title: General Laborer
Job Description
This role involves performing a wide range of construction and concrete-related tasks to support production. The general laborer contributes to daily operations by handling general labor duties, assisting machine operators, and performing physically demanding work in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction labor tasks related to concrete production and installation.
- Handle concrete labor duties, including preparing, pouring, and finishing concrete as directed.
- Carry out general labor activities such as material handling, site cleanup, and basic maintenance.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials, tools, and equipment as part of daily work assignments.
- Assist machine operators throughout the production process to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Operate or help operate machinery and equipment used in concrete and construction work, under appropriate guidance and training.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for carpentry, concrete, and general construction tasks.
- Read and use tape measures accurately to support precise measurements and cutting.
- Support carpentry-related tasks, including building, assembling, or installing forms and structures.
- Assist with landscaping-related duties as needed, such as grading, site preparation, or cleanup around work areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by performing regular cleaning and general labor duties.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with tools, machinery, and materials.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet production goals.
Essential Skills
- Experience in construction labor, including exposure to construction sites and field work.
- Hands-on experience working with concrete, including basic knowledge of mixing, pouring, or finishing.
- Expereince in general labor roles that involve physical work and manual tasks.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Familiarity with carpentry tasks, particularly in a construction or concrete environment.
- Ability to assist machine operators and follow instructions in a production setting.
- Competence using hand tools such as hammers, wrenches, and other basic tools.
- Competence using power tools in a safe and controlled manner.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately for measurements and layout.
- Capacity to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in landscaping or site preparation work.
- Prior experience working with precast concrete products or similar construction materials.
- Exposure to machine operating in an industrial or construction setting.
- Interest in developing skills in heavy equipment operation or supervisory responsibilities over time.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a focus on consistent attendance and performance.
