Job Title: Production Associate
Job Description
This role focuses on manual final pack operations in a fast-paced, assembly line production environment. You will assemble boxes by hand, pack final brick bags, instructions, and related components into packaging, and help ensure that products meet strict quality and performance standards before shipment. The position involves repetitive tasks, working closely with teammates on a production line, and rotating through various line duties over 12-hour shifts.
Responsibilities
- Manually assemble boxes and packaging, including forming the physical box and inserting instructions, parts, and brick bags prior to shipment.
- Work on an assembly line in a shoulder-to-shoulder environment, performing repetitive tasks with high speed and accuracy.
- Rotate through different positions on a specific production line, including standing roles, sitting roles, and end-of-line palletizing responsibilities.
- Make boxes in less than two seconds while maintaining accuracy and product integrity.
- Lift and load full boxes, up to 50 lbs, onto pallets at the end of the line.
- Keep assigned machines in good condition by supporting basic cleaning and care tasks as directed.
- Maintain a tidy, organized, and clean work area at all times in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Perform each position required for the production line, contributing to the overall performance of the line.
- Ensure accurate and timely production reporting for the assigned line, following established performance and documentation standards.
- Meet standard hourly production results and support a constant, efficient flow of product through the line.
- Help minimize unplanned downtime by staying attentive, responding quickly to issues, and maintaining a steady work pace.
- Carry out quality inspections and quality checks as required, ensuring products meet defined quality standards.
- Report any quality issues, failures, or nonconformities promptly and accurately in line with quality assurance requirements.
- Participate in line operation reporting activities, including TPM, 5S, quality audits, and line release audits.
- Support changeovers between products or runs, including material changes, line adjustments, and related tasks.
- Assist with machine cleaning and basic maintenance tasks as assigned to support smooth production.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with peers, maintaining strong teamwork and alignment with shared values.
- Work within a performance-measured environment, consistently meeting or exceeding production and quality metrics.
- Maintain consistent attendance and job tenure, demonstrating reliability and commitment to the production schedule.
- Follow all site rules regarding personal items, safety, and dress code while on the production floor.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colonial Heights, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.15 - $19.15/hr.
