Job Description
The Warehouse Technician safely operates forklifts and other material handling equipment to receive, store, move, and ship materials accurately and efficiently. This role focuses on loading and unloading trucks, managing inventory within warehouse racks, and maintaining precise electronic records while supporting daily warehouse operations Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Use material handling equipment to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, including trucks and small parcel carriers.
- Locate, pick, and move materials into and out of warehouse racks and between designated locations.
- Receive inbound freight and process it into inventory, ensuring accurate entry of part numbers, quantities, and related data into electronic systems.
- Ensure all assigned material handling equipment is inspected before use and is in safe operating condition.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with established procedures.
- Report all accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions promptly to a supervisor.
- Stock and arrange products in warehouse racks to support efficient inventory turns and easy access.
- Perform cycle counts to determine accurate material quantities and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
- Move materials between locations by quantity, ensuring correct placement and tracking within the warehouse.
- Locate and pick materials accurately from designated warehouse locations to support outbound shipments and internal requests.
- Resolve discrepancies involving material quantities, part numbers, and location data in coordination with inventory records.
- Place pallets and materials in a safe and stable manner, ensuring pallet heights are appropriate and that racking, equipment, and materials remain undamaged.
- Ensure materials and pallets are not left in aisles or other areas where they may create safety hazards.
- Practice safe material handling techniques at all times in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Perform housekeeping tasks as assigned to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Work overtime and weekends as required to support business needs in this safety-sensitive role.
- Proven ability to operate forklifts safely in a warehouse environment.
- Experience using material handling equipment for loading, unloading, and moving materials.
- Ability to perform accurate picking and stocking of materials within warehouse racks.
- Proficiency with RF scanners for locating, picking, and tracking inventory.
- Strong attention to detail when entering and verifying part numbers, quantities, and other inventory data.
- Ability to perform cycle counting and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and safe material handling techniques.
- Capability to maintain stable pallet loads and adhere to appropriate pallet heights.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime and weekends as needed in a safety-sensitive position.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area through regular housekeeping.
- Experience working with parcel carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and similar services for inbound freight processing.
- Familiarity with electronic inventory management systems and data entry.
- Ability to identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment issues, or damage to materials and racking.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse environment with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the possibility of overtime and weekend work as needed. You regularly operate forklifts, RF scanners, and other material handling equipment to move pallets and materials within warehouse racks and staging areas. The facility emphasizes safety, requiring equipment inspections, stable pallet stacking, clear aisles, and adherence to safe material handling practices. The work involves physical activity, including standing, walking, and handling materials throughout the shift, and includes housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace.

This is a Contract position based out of Fredericksburg, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
