About the Role:
As a CBRE Data Center Facilities Manager, you will manage a team responsible for overseeing critical infrastructure operations and 24/7/365 maintenance for a data center facility, campus, or critical asset portfolio. This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area, focusing on maximizing uptime, mitigating operational risk, and providing strategic support regarding high-density cooling, power distribution, and infrastructure lifecycle plans.
What You'll Do:
As a CBRE Data Center Facilities Manager, you will manage a team responsible for overseeing critical infrastructure operations and 24/7/365 maintenance for a data center facility, campus, or critical asset portfolio. This job is a part of the Facilities Management functional area, focusing on maximizing uptime, mitigating operational risk, and providing strategic support regarding high-density cooling, power distribution, and infrastructure lifecycle plans.
What You'll Do:
- Provide formal supervision to critical facilities employees.
- Monitor specialized data center training and development.
- Conduct performance evaluations and technical coaching.
- Oversee recruiting for skilled critical environment technicians.
- Schedule and manage 24/7/365 shift activities.
- Establish work schedules and rigorous cross-training plans.
- Set and track department and SLA deadlines.
- Mentor and coach technical staff as needed.
- Coordinate critical infrastructure maintenance with specialized vendors.
- Maintain client relationships regarding uptime and incidents.
- Manage capital projects, budgets, and variance reports.
- Perform facility inspections following critical environment regulations.
- Suggest efficiencies for Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE).
- Manage environmental health, safety, and EOP procedures.
- Oversee critical vendor relationships and invoicing procedures.
- Review quotes for specialized parts and labor.
- Conduct training on maintenance, Method of Procedure (MOP) execution, and safety.
- Lead by example consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Influence parties to reach critical risk agreements.
- Integrate facilities discipline with IT and network objectives.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and monitoring issues.
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Equivalent experience in critical environments will be considered.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Facility Management or critical environment certification preferred.
- Experience in staffing, training, and retaining technical personnel.
- Ability to handle sensitive data and incident report communication.
- Leadership skills to motivate teams toward zero-downtime goals.
- Deep knowledge of UPS, generators, Chillers, and BMS/DCIM systems.
- Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
