Job Title: Construction Foreman
Job Description
The Construction Foreman oversees exterior construction and repair work at a condominium property, with a strong focus on window caulking, window cutting and installation, and concrete repairs performed at height. This role leads hands-on field activities, ensures high-quality workmanship, and promotes a safe and efficient job site while working with hand and power tools in elevated environments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities at a condominium site, ensuring work progresses according to plan and quality standards.
- Perform and oversee window caulking, ensuring proper sealing, weatherproofing, and finishing of all window installations.
- Cut, fit, and install windows accurately, following project specifications and safety guidelines.
- Carry out and direct concrete repair work, including surface preparation, patching, and finishing to restore structural integrity and appearance.
- Lead glazing work on windows, ensuring proper installation, sealing, and alignment of glass components.
- Work safely at height using scaffolding and other access equipment, ensuring all team members follow fall protection and safety procedures.
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform construction, repair, and finishing tasks efficiently and safely.
- Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements, making adjustments or corrections as needed.
- Coordinate with team members to organize materials, tools, and equipment required for daily tasks.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, promptly addressing any hazards or issues on site.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in construction labor with a focus on exterior building work.
- Hands-on experience with concrete repair, including preparation, patching, and finishing.
- Proficiency in window caulking, including sealing and weatherproofing techniques.
- Experience cutting and installing windows according to specifications.
- Glazing experience, including handling and installing glass in window systems.
- Ability to work confidently and safely on scaffolding and at significant heights.
- Strong practical skills using hand tools and power tools for construction and repair tasks.
- Ability to read and follow basic instructions and work plans related to construction activities.
- Commitment to safety practices, especially when working in elevated areas and around tools and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in general construction labor across multiple trades such as caulking, glazing, and concrete repairs.
- Experience performing repairs and maintenance in a condominium or multi-unit residential environment.
- Comfort working outdoors and in changing weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure clean finishes and durable repairs.
- Ability to lead by example on site and support a collaborative team environment.

Work Environment
This position is based at a condominium property and involves primarily outdoor work on the building exterior. The role is physically active and requires regular use of hand tools and power tools for tasks such as cutting, fastening, caulking, glazing, and concrete repair. Work typically follows standard construction hours, with tasks performed in varying weather conditions. Attire should be appropriate for a construction site, including sturdy work boots and clothing suitable for outdoor, hands-on work, along with any required personal protective equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
