Job Description
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of HVAC piping principles, systems, and relevant codes and industry standards governing their installation. Skillfully install, replace, retrofit, and perform technical work on all HVAC piping systems, ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Skillfully install, replace, retrofit, and perform technical work on HVAC piping systems.
- Review and comprehend CADD drawings and diagrams, blueprints, sketches, fabrication drawings, and submittals for projects.
- Fabricate and install piping without reference drawings (field route).
- Layout work ahead of welders and collaborate with other construction professionals.
- Measure, cut, weld, assemble, and install pipes using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Follow all safety guidelines and complete all tasks in a timely manner.
- Proven pipefitting experience in commercial/industrial work.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, isometrics, and specifications.
- Working knowledge of piping systems and basic welding processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- OSHA 10 required (OSHA 30 preferred).
- Strong communication, reliability, problem-solving, and team leadership skills.
- Ability to fabricate and install piping without drawings.
- Experience in layout work ahead of welders.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools.

Work Environment
This role involves working both outdoors and indoors, Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 4 pm, with some weekend work. The work environment requires adherence to safety guidelines and collaboration with construction professionals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
