Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and registered Project Architect to lead project teams from concept through construction, ensuring a balance between design vision and technical execution. This role involves overseeing the production and coordination of drawing sets, fostering team engagement, and guiding project communication.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on and support contract negotiation and fee proposal efforts.
- Oversee the production and coordination of drawing sets, ensuring clarity, quality, and completeness.
- Foster productive team engagement, guide team workflows, and provide clear direction for projects.
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and project communication.
- Guide project code analysis and integration of standards and guidelines.
- Coordinate with internal team members and external consultants.
- Conduct thorough, comprehensive, and clear Quality Control Reviews.
- Perform construction administration services, including submittals, RFIs, pay applications, punch lists, and change orders.
- Maintain prompt and clear communication.
Essential Skills:
- Registered Architect with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a design-focused practice.
- Proficiency in Revit is required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead design development with high technical quality and strong client service.
- Success managing teams through all project phases, including complex consultant coordination.
- Depth of knowledge in construction systems and assemblies, detailing, specifying, constructability, and cost analysis.
- Ability to translate design intent into clear, coordinated, biddable, and buildable documents.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to balance scope, schedule, and budget.
- Effective and responsible communicator with the ability to lead internal teams and engage directly with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to mentor and elevate junior staff.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiencies in Bluebeam Revu, Procore, SpecLink, and SpecsIntact preferred.
- Experience in civic, federal, and/or educational projects is preferred.
- Fluency in Rhino, SketchUp, and Architectural design is beneficial.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is based in an office setting, Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with a flexible schedule available for certain employee circumstances.

This is a Permanent position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $135000.00/hr.
