Job Title: Quality Engineer
Location: Everett, WA, with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and 2 days remote (Monday, Friday).
- Candidates must be local to greater Seattle area due to in office requirements. No relocation assistance provided.
Overview
The Quality Engineer ensures product quality, reliability, and compliance across the full product lifecycle. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical expertise in electronics and mechanical systems, and the ability to drive quality initiatives across cross-functional teams. You will lead quality planning, risk management, validation activities, and continuous improvement to meet customer and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product lifecycle quality planning from concept through production launch
- Own Design for Quality activities, including DFMEA and design control deliverables
- Drive risk management, control plans, and traceability from requirements to validation
- Define acceptance criteria, test strategies, and Critical-to-Quality parameters
- Partner with Engineering, Product, and Operations on design, manufacturability, and reliability
- Support APQP processes including PFMEA, control plans, and PPAP
- Ensure production readiness through validation of test systems and inspection methods
- Monitor launch and field quality metrics such as DPPM, yield, and warranty data
- Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Whys, and statistical methods
- Drive corrective actions, containment, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support change control, audits, and compliance with ISO 9001 standards
- Collaborate with suppliers, service teams, and customers on quality issues
- Communicate risks and performance trends to leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, Systems, or related field
- 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in hardware or electromechanical products
- Strong knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, MSA, control plans, and problem solving methods
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Minitab or Power BI
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and audit processes
- Six Sigma or CQE certification preferred
Preferred Skills
- Experience with PCBA or electronics manufacturing
- Knowledge of reliability methods and systems like PLM, ERP, or MES
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills
- High ownership and continuous improvement mindset
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
