Job Title: Sr. Quality Engineer
Job Description
The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of complex electromechanical and embedded products across the entire product lifecycle, from concept through production and sustaining support.
Responsibilities:
Design & Development Quality
- Support lifecycle quality planning from concept through launch
- Participate in DfQ activities, including DFMEA and design controls
- Contribute to risk management, control plans, and documentation
- Define test strategies, MSA/GR&R, and CtQ characteristics
- Partner with Engineering and Operations on manufacturability and risk mitigation
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead or support APQP activities (PFMEA, control plans, PPAP, capability analysis)
- Support validation of test systems and inspection strategies
- Participate in readiness reviews for production transition
- Track launch quality metrics (DPPM, escapes, early-life issues)
Sustaining Quality
- Monitor product health (returns, yields, warranty, reliability trends)
- Reduce scrap and rework impacting CoPQ
- Lead or support root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, statistics)
- Support containment, stop-ship, and corrective actions
- Improve inspection and test strategies
- Support change control (ECOs, process/component changes)
- Partner with Service/Support on customer issues
- Communicate insights through data-driven quality reviews
Quality Systems & Compliance
- Support ISO 9001:2015 and audit activities
- Maintain quality documentation and procedures
- Assist with supplier and customer audits
- Promote continuous improvement aligned with business systems
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field
- Quality Engineering experience (hardware/electromechanical/embedded)
- Experience with V&V, statistical tools, and quality principles
- Hands-on with DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, GR&R, control plans, problem solving
- Experience with audits and failure analysis
- Proficiency in Minitab, Excel, or Power BI
- Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma experience (Green Belt preferred)
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar standards
Desired
- Experience with PCBA, electronics manufacturing, or test systems
- Familiarity with PLM, ERP, MES, or digital quality tools
- Exposure to FRACAS or Weibull analysis
- Strong collaboration and data-driven mindset
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr.
