Job Description
This role provides hands-on support for shipyard and marine repair operations, assisting skilled trades with general labor tasks, cable pulling, and electrical-related activities. You will work closely with experienced professionals to help maintain and repair vessels in a dynamic shipyard environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist tradespeople with general labor tasks in support of ship repair and marine maintenance projects.
- Support cable pulling activities, including routing, organizing, and handling cables under direction.
- Help with basic electrical-related tasks as directed by qualified personnel, such as staging materials and tools.
- Perform general cleanup and housekeeping duties in work areas, both on ships and in shop environments.
- Move, lift, and position materials, tools, and equipment to support ongoing repair and maintenance work.
- Follow instructions from supervisors and trades helpers to complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
- Work on and around vessels in various stages of repair, including on board ships, on the pier, and in shop areas.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures while working in a shipyard environment.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks in a physically demanding shipyard environment.
- Experience as a trades helper or in general labor roles within industrial or marine settings.
- Basic familiarity with cable pulling activities and willingness to assist with electrical-related tasks under supervision.
- Capability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and consistently.
- Reliability and strong work ethic, with a focus on completing tasks safely and efficiently.
- Shipyard or ship repair experience preferred.
- Experience in marine repair or ship maintenance environments is an advantage.
- Comfort working around electrical systems under the direction of qualified personnel.
- Willingness to learn new skills and support a variety of trades as needed.

Work Environment

The role requires comfort with physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials in and around vessels and shop spaces. Dress typically includes durable work clothing suitable for industrial and marine conditions, along with any site-required safety gear provided on location.

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
