Job Description
The Onsite Medical Representative plays a key role in supporting workplace health and safety by providing immediate first aid, promoting wellness, and helping to manage occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses for associates. Working as part of the Workplace Health & Safety team, this role collaborates closely with site safety leaders to create a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. The Onsite Medical Representative independently assesses and administers first aid, coordinates referrals to outside medical providers, participates in safety and case management meetings, and actively engages with associates on the operations floor to reduce injury risk and support overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Independently assess and provide first aid to associates for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses.
- Refer associates to outside medical providers when care beyond first aid is needed.
- Minimize the risk of injury by promoting awareness, education, and proactive engagement with associates.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all care provided to associates.
- Coordinate and support workers’ compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries.
- Prepare and submit daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Engage regularly with associates and leadership on the operations floor to coach on safe work practices and address at-risk work habits.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant medical workspace and ensure appropriate medical supply inventory levels.
- Participate in training and certification activities to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certification classes.
- Maintain all required first aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support credentials.
- Work flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends, as business needs require.
- Assist with random saliva drug testing protocols in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide effective care delivery during emergencies and support the site’s emergency response efforts.
- Attend weekly associate safety committee meetings and actively contribute to discussions on safety and health topics.
- Greet and engage with new hires at the site and support their onboarding with health and safety guidance.
- Participate in weekly case management review meetings as needed to support injured associates.
- Support site safety operations as part of the larger onsite Workplace Health & Safety team.
- Continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable to respond to incidents throughout the facility.
- Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach as part of daily duties.
- Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts in a dynamic operations environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved emergency cardiac care provider.
- Current valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic certification from the Department of Health or the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
- Ability to obtain adult First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross within three weeks of starting if not already held.
- Ability to lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Ability to work effectively in environments with variable noise levels, temperatures, and weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills to interact with associates and leadership and provide clear health and safety guidance.
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation with attention to detail.
- Capability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Certification to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting.
- Experience working in an industrial wellness or occupational health program.
- Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders and providing ergonomic and body mechanics coaching.
- Demonstrated experience working with OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes.
- Proficiency in digital record keeping and electronic documentation systems.
- Recent experience (within the last year) in a military medical role such as Combat Medic, Field Medic, Healthcare Specialist, Hospital Corpsman, or Aerospace Medical Service Technician.
- Strong interest in health, wellness, and injury prevention, with a passion for educating and supporting others.
This role is based onsite in a fast-paced operations facility in Spokane Valley, WA, as part of a Workplace Health & Safety team. You will spend significant time on the operations floor, engaging directly with associates and leadership while also working in a dedicated medical space. Shifts can be up to 12 hours and may include days, nights, holidays, and weekends. The environment includes variable noise levels and changing temperatures, and some areas may be subject to outdoor weather conditions, especially near loading and delivery zones. The position requires frequent walking, standing, climbing and descending stairs, and performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 49 pounds and regularly bending, squatting, pushing, and pulling. You will use standard medical supplies and equipment for first aid, CPR, and AED response, as well as computers and digital systems for record keeping and reporting. The workplace emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, with regular safety committee meetings and ongoing training to support a strong safety culture.

This is a Contract position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr.
