Location: Washougal, WA
Pay Rate: $22/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Job Overview
The General Laborer supports daily plant operations and optional community events by safely handling, sorting, labeling, and transporting various materials and products. This role works primarily in the paint department and warehouse, with opportunities to assist at off-site events on weekends. Responsibilities include material handling, equipment operation, inventory support, and customer interaction in a hands-on, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations in the paint department and warehouse by separating and handling materials
- Dispose of paint by dumping water-based, latex, oil, cement, and rubber-based paints into a 100-gallon tank following established procedures
- Load and unload products from semi-trucks using pallet jacks and forklifts
- Label processed or disposed materials accurately for tracking and compliance
- Assist with inventory by documenting received and processed materials
- Operate forklifts, fork trucks, and other mobile equipment to move containers and load/unload trailers
- Support optional weekend events (Friday–Sunday) as part of a 3–10 person team
- Sort and place materials into designated bins based on type and disposal requirements during events
- Load materials into semi-trucks at event locations for transport back to the facility
- Interact with customers at events by answering basic questions, providing guidance, and thanking them for participation
- Separate and label materials according to handling and disposal guidelines
- Use an iPad to photograph and document inventory received from customers
- Work safely around loud alarms, warning sounds, and moving vehicles while following all safety protocols
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and collaborate effectively with team members
Required Qualifications
- Experience in general labor or material handling within a warehouse, plant, or similar environment
- Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks, or willingness to learn
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working in team-based environments and interacting with customers
- Basic ability to use an iPad or similar device for documentation
- Ability to work safely around loud equipment and vehicle traffic
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior forklift or fork truck experience
- Experience working both indoors and outdoors
- Willingness to learn proper handling and separation of various paint and material types
- Openness to completing HAZWOPER training (provided at no cost if not already certified)

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washougal, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
