Job Description
This part-time contract role offers the opportunity to lead payroll operations for a mid-size firm in Woodinville, WA while managing one payroll team member. You will oversee end-to-end payroll processing in ADP Workforce Now, support employees with payroll and benefits questions, and ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery. The position is scheduled for approximately 24 hours per week across three days and is expected to last 3–5 months, with a pre-employment background check required.
Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll runs in ADP Workforce Now, including data entry, validation, and final approvals.
- Calculate and verify all payroll-related taxes, deductions, and contributions, ensuring accurate gross-to-net results.
- Perform regular gross-to-net audits and quality control checks to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain and update ADP Workforce Now configuration, including workflows, integrations, and user permissions.
- Administer benefits, including open enrollment, qualifying life events, and ongoing enrollment changes.
- Reconcile benefit invoices and resolve discrepancies in coordination with payroll and benefits data.
- Manage the applicant tracking system (ATS) to support talent processes and maintain accurate applicant data.
- Onboard new hires by setting them up in ADP Workforce Now, ensuring complete and accurate employee records.
- Monitor and manage time and attendance data, including timecard approvals, PTO tracking, and attendance discrepancies.
- Generate and analyze customized reports on payroll, labor costs, turnover, and related HR metrics.
- Support general ledger activities related to payroll accounting, including reconciliations and audit support.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding pay stubs, benefits information, and portal navigation.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders, resolving payroll and benefits issues promptly and professionally.
- Oversee and manage the work of one payroll team member, providing guidance and ensuring high-quality output.
- Participate in internal audits and quality assurance reviews to strengthen payroll processes and controls.
- At least 5 years of experience working with ADP payroll software.
- Strong, demonstrable experience with ADP Workforce Now, including payroll processing and system administration.
- Proficiency in payroll processing, including calculations of taxes, deductions, and gross-to-net pay.
- Experience with payroll accounting, reconciliations, and general ledger interfaces.
- Ability to perform payroll audits and quality control checks with strong attention to detail.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables.
- Strong reporting and analysis skills related to payroll, labor costs, and HR data.
- Excellent customer service skills for supporting employees and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage and support another payroll team member.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage part-time hours effectively while meeting deadlines.
- Experience with Kronos or similar time and attendance software.
- background in benefits administration, including open enrollment and qualifying life events.
- Experience managing or supporting an applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Familiarity with quality assurance and audit processes in payroll and HR environments.
- Comfort working with multiple systems and integrations related to payroll and HR data.
This is a part-time contract position based in Woodinville, WA, working approximately 24 hours per week across three days, with some variation such as a 24-hour week followed by a 5-hour week as needed. The role is expected to last 3–5 months and involves on-site work in a fun, collaborative team environment located in a building next to a restaurant and above a winery space. Free parking is available, and you will work primarily with ADP Workforce Now, Microsoft Excel, and related payroll and timekeeping systems such as Kronos. A pre-employment background check is required.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
