Job Description
The Material Handler / Forklift Operator supports both shipping and receiving operations while supplying materials to multiple production lines in a busy warehouse environment. This role focuses on safely operating a sit-down forklift, accurately handling materials with an RF scan gun, and ensuring that both inbound and outbound products are staged, labeled, and prepared for transport in a timely and organized manner.
Responsibilities
- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Unload inbound trailers on the east side of the building and stage materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Use an RF scan gun to accurately scan, track, and record inventory movements and material locations.
- Pick and deliver specific materials to supply one of twelve production lines as needed to support continuous production.
- Receive finished products on the west side of the building from the conveyor belt and stage them for shipping or load them directly onto outbound trailers.
- Label pallets and apply shrink wrap to secure finished goods for storage or shipment.
- Follow established shipping and receiving procedures to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
- Handle materials and finished products safely, consistently lifting up to 50 lbs as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse and around production lines.
- Adhere to all safety policies, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of recent experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or similar environment.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience using an RF scan gun for inventory and material tracking.
- Ability to consistently lift and move up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Experience working in shipping, receiving, and staging areas within a warehouse setting.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions to ensure accurate material handling and order fulfillment.
- Strong attention to detail when staging, labeling, and preparing materials and finished goods.
- Commitment to working safely around forklifts, conveyors, and production machinery.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting production lines by supplying materials and removing finished goods.
- Familiarity with warehouse layouts and material staging practices.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment where temperatures may vary by season.
- Willingness and reliability to work a 3rd shift schedule from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse and production facility that is relatively clean but not climate controlled. The temperature remains comfortable during the winter and can become warm in the summer due to operating machinery. Work takes place around active production lines, conveyors, and trailers on both the receiving (east) and shipping (west) sides of the building. The position is on 3rd shift, with hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times, including steel-toe footwear, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
