As a Construction Materials Technician, you will be responsible for conducting field testing and sampling of construction materials, performing laboratory tests on soil, concrete, and asphalt samples, and preparing detailed and accurate reports of test results. You will communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and clients, ensuring all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained while adhering to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
Responsibilities- Conduct field testing and sampling of construction materials.
- Perform laboratory tests on soil, concrete, and asphalt samples.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports of test results.
- Communicate findings to project managers, engineers, and clients.
- Ensure all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies at all times.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Document the testing of concrete, soil, and other construction materials in the field.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing at each construction site.
- Primarily perform work on construction sites, with occasional lab work as needed.
- Knowledge of construction materials testing and soil sampling.
- Field experience with construction sites.
- Ability to conduct testing on concrete, soil, aggregate, and other materials.
- Ability to produce handwritten field reports.
- Basic technology skills for using spreadsheets and other equipment to collect data.
- Effective communication with contractors, owner's representatives, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Strong attendance and work history with a focus on punctuality.
- Safety knowledge and adherence to safety protocols.
- PCC and Aggregate Technician certifications.
- Experience with WisDOT projects, including bridges, highways, and curbs.
- Associates degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent construction field experience.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and overtime.
- Ability to drive a company vehicle.
Work is conducted 100% in the field, Monday through Friday, 45-50 hours a week, with occasional Saturdays required. The role involves working in all weather conditions.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
