We’re seeking a Right of Way (ROW) / Land Supervisor to lead field teams and drive land acquisition strategy for major electric and gas infrastructure projects. What You’ll Own
As a ROW Supervisor, you’ll sit at the intersection of people leadership, strategy, and execution—ensuring projects move forward efficiently, compliantly, and on schedule.
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead and mentor ROW Agents, Land Agents, and Specialists
- Drive productivity, quality, and consistency across the team
- Assign territories and balance workloads for optimal performance
- Review active negotiations and guide risk-based decision-making
- Impact Metric: Your team will maintain consistent outreach of ~10 landowner contacts per day per agent.
Acquisition Strategy & Project Delivery
- Direct land acquisition for:
- Electric transmission & substations
- Distribution upgrades
- Gas system expansions & replacements
- Develop strategies (voluntary acquisition vs. condemnation)
- Align ROW timelines with engineering and construction schedules
- Proactively identify risks and unblock critical path issues
Regulatory & Compliance Leadership
- Ensure adherence to PSC requirements, tariffs, and utility standards
- Support eminent domain and condemnation processes
- Partner closely with legal teams to navigate complex scenarios
- Oversee documentation, compensation, and acquisition integrity
Stakeholder & Escalation Management
- Step into high-stakes or sensitive negotiations
- Manage interactions with municipalities, tribal entities, and key stakeholders
- Support public-facing communications alongside stakeholder teams
- Resolve disputes that could impact schedule or project delivery
Cross-Functional Influence
- Work alongside:
- Utility Project Managers
- Engineering & Design Teams
- Construction & Operations
- Legal & Regulatory Teams
- GIS and Land Records
- You’ll be a central connector, ensuring land efforts stay aligned with every phase of project execution.
What You Bring
Required
- Proven ROW experience within electric and/or gas utilities
- Leadership experience (formal or informal team oversight)
- Strong command of land acquisition and eminent domain processes
- Ability to manage complexity, deadlines, and reporting requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred
- Experience supporting high-volume, programmatic ROW efforts
- Comfortable in fast-paced, metrics-driven environments
- Ability to lead across multiple projects simultaneously

This is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80600.00 - $88400.00/yr.
