Job Title: Powder Coater – 1st Shift
Job Description
This role focuses on powder coating metal parts, handling materials safely, and supporting a smooth production flow on a 1st shift schedule. You will prepare and hang parts on a conveyor line, operate a forklift for material movement, and perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet standards. The position requires consistent attention to detail, physical stamina, and a proactive approach to keeping supplies organized throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Perform powder coating of parts according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Handle materials using a forklift to move parts and products safely throughout the facility.
- Hang parts on the conveyor line and remove them after coating, including handling heavier parts as needed.
- Conduct quality checks on coated parts to ensure proper coverage, finish, and adherence to specifications.
- Prepare parts for coating, including basic paint prep tasks as required.
- Ensure all supplies and materials are ready at the start of the shift and remain organized throughout the day.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to support safety and efficiency.
- Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while operating equipment and performing tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues related to quality, materials, or equipment.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or similar shop environment.
- Ability to lift parts up to 40 lbs., bend, and stand for long periods throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail when performing powder coating and quality checks.
- Material handling experience, including moving and staging parts.
- Forklift operation experience for safe movement of materials.
- Capability to perform paint prep tasks as needed.
- Comfort working with heavier parts on a conveyor line.
- Reliability in following schedules, procedures, and safety practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous powder coating experience (preferred but not required).
- Experience working in a small shop or team-based production environment.
- Willingness to adapt to varying workloads and production demands.
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and strong work ethic.

Work Environment
This is a 1st shift position working four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday. The role is based in a small shop environment with approximately 12 employees, fostering close collaboration and communication. Work volumes can be inconsistent at times, and the team actively adjusts to maintain steady employment for staff. The position involves frequent standing, bending, and lifting parts up to 40 lbs., as well as working around a conveyor line and operating a forklift. You will work in a hands-on production setting with powder coating equipment, material handling tools, and standard shop equipment, with an expectation of practical, safety-conscious attire appropriate for a manufacturing environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Manitowoc, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
