Job Title: Lab Technician


Job Description

Perform wet chemistry tests on chemical products. Conduct GC and titrations on a daily basis. Execute various lab tests such as FTIR, Viscosity, pH, Specific Gravity, and more. Document testing data and quality data both on paper and electronically. Review and prepare batch records for customers. Collaborate with customers regarding orders, quality paperwork, and testing information. Assist with additional quality tests in the absence of the QC lead.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct GC and titrations on a daily basis.
  • Execute lab tests such as FTIR, Viscosity, pH, Specific Gravity, etc.
  • Document testing data and quality data both on paper and electronically.
  • Review and prepare batch records for customers.
  • Collaborate with customers regarding orders, quality paperwork, and testing information.
  • Assist with additional quality tests when the QC lead is out of the office.

Essential Skills

  • Hands-on lab experience in a food, chemical, pharma, or similar lab environment.
  • Experience with GC, FTIR, Viscosity, pH, Specific Gravity, etc.
  • Ability to guide and work with other lab technicians.
  • Knowledge in chemistry, biology, titration, wet chemistry, and gas chromatography.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with GLP's.
  • Proficiency in HPLC and Analytical Testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Traditional Sciences (e.g., Chemistry, Biology).

Work Environment

This is a first shift position starting at 6:00 a.m. and ending between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The role involves working primarily in the QC laboratory, performing GC and other wet chemistry techniques, and interacting with customers. The work environment is casual with a focus on teamwork and continuous improvement. Candidates will need to wear steel toes, safety glasses, plain shirts, and jeans. The job requires working 40 to 45 hours per week, with the possibility of up to 50 hours during busy periods. The candidate will be exposed to unique smells and chemical products in a chemical manufacturing setting.
