This role involves setting up and operating a variety of brake press, punch press, and laser equipment in a clean manufacturing environment. You will interpret detailed blueprints, configure machines to precise specifications, perform quality checks on parts, and handle heavy stainless steel components throughout the production process.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate brake presses, punch presses, and laser equipment according to production requirements.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints to determine correct machine settings, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Adjust and fine-tune machine settings to meet specifications and ensure consistent product quality.
- Troubleshoot presses to identify and resolve mechanical or operational issues in a timely manner.
- Use measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors to verify part dimensions and alignment.
- Perform regular quality checks on parts to ensure they meet required standards and specifications.
- Lift and position heavy stainless steel pieces, including materials weighing 50 pounds or more, onto machines safely and efficiently.
- Rotate between multiple brake presses throughout the week as production needs change.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures and plant guidelines.
- At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment setting up and operating brake presses, shear presses, or laser equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience troubleshooting presses and resolving equipment issues.
- At least 2 years of experience working from detailed blueprints.
- Proficiency using measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, and protractors.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a consistent basis.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work effectively in a production setting.
- Experience working with Cincinnati presses.
- Previous experience operating multiple types of press equipment in a single facility.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to different machines and processes as needed.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a very clean manufacturing plant that utilizes brake presses, punch presses, lasers, and related equipment. The standard schedule runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., offering a four-day workweek with extended shifts. The dress code requires steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a t-shirt, reflecting a practical and safety-focused production environment. You will work around stainless steel materials, multiple presses, and standard measuring tools while following established safety and cleanliness standards.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.77 - $28.77/hr.
