Job Title: Assistant Project Manager of Construction(APM)


Job Description

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will partner with the Safety department to promptly and thoroughly investigate all accidents and 'near misses', ensuring incidents are communicated across the organization. You will manage billing and collections, facilitate process improvements in production and efficiency, and develop safety and project pre-plans. This role requires analyzing and forecasting factors that affect efficiency and results, developing strategies and schedules, and engaging in monthly financial project reviews.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Safety department to investigate all accidents and 'near misses' promptly and thoroughly.
  • Communicate incidents across the organization.
  • Manage billing and collections, bill customers monthly and as construction schedule allows.
  • Track accounts receivable and manage late payments/past due accounts for positive cash flow.
  • Facilitate constant process improvement in production and efficiency in field labor.
  • Implement prefab and other production improvement tools to consistently improve labor production.
  • Establish week-to-week plans, determining what is to be done, when, and by whom.
  • Analyze and forecast factors that affect efficiency and results.
  • Develop appropriate programs, strategies, schedules, and supervision.
  • Develop safety and project pre-plans.
  • Review and approve crew time sheets and production.
  • Track financial performance, reserve and track bill of materials.
  • Initiate change orders and engage in monthly financial project reviews.
  • Share manpower, resources, and tools with all projects, departments, and branches as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Project management
  • Construction management
  • Electrical engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience estimating or running construction projects is a plus.
  • Any OSHA certifications would be a plus.
  • Proficiency with Procore software
  • Internships in construction is a plus.

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The role may require travel to various job sites and coordination with multiple departments and branches. The work environment emphasizes safety and continuous improvement in production processes. Standard office hours apply, with flexibility based on project needs.
